We're fighting the single biggest killer of Australians – heart disease.

For 60 years the Heart Foundation has led the battle to save lives and improve the heart health of all Australians. Our sights are set on a world where people don’t suffer or die prematurely because of heart disease.

Gear Up Girl is a great opportunity for women and girls to get on their bikes and get active. Did you know that heart disease kills almost three times as many women as breast cancer, and is a leading cause of death for Australian women. Over 70% of women aged 30 to 65 years have been told by a doctor that they have at least one risk factor for heart disease.

We support Gear Up Girl because we know that women doing physical activity is a good thing!

30 minutes of physical activity each day is important for good health. It can reduce the risk of heart disease by 35%, reduce blood pressure, help maintain a healthy weight and improve our mental health. Currently, less than 46% of women in Australia aged 18-64 do enough physical activity for good health.

So talk to the women in your life, sign up for Gear Up Girl, and have some fun for a good cause.
